Musician, media evangelist and author Bro. Rodney Orpheus is probably one of the few, if not the only OTO member, that probably knows more than 90% of its members personally. Those interested in Thelema probably know him best through his excellent beginners guide Abrahadabra. He also runs an occult blog of the name abrahadabra. From his musical work, although he is probably best known for his Cassandra Complex work, I'd rather like to recomment the excellent Sun God album, a conceptual record inspired by Voodoo and the movies of Maya Deren in particular.

This is the A.'A.'. accepted by and "linked" with the OTO in the sense of membership overlap and contact information publication. In the past this was often stated to be a lineage through Soror Grimaud (Helen Parsons Smith), though I technically it is actually ironically a Motta via J. Daniel Gunther lineage. Clarification would be welcome.

The UK Grand Lodge under Hyperion X° was eastablished on the 1st of May 2005 e.v. at a celebratory Gnostic Mass at Conway Hall in Red Lion Square, London. 93 years to the month after the previous X° for the U.K., Aleister Crowley, was elevated to that office.

Liber Call Me Al (The Book of the Inlaws) is a really funny parody of Liber AL vel Legis, which was first published around 1988 in volume III of the 'Baphomet Breeze', a periodical of the no longer existing Baphomet Lodge in L.A. You still find copies on the internet. Check out volume III, number 2 for an equally hillarious 'Thelemic Language Lesson' that still mirrors a lot of the attitude amongst Thelemites. ;-)

Just wanted to share a picture with you that I took last Saturday, 28th Feb 2009 e.v. in Cairo. As you can see, the stélé (Translation) is still in great condition. For the few of you, who may not know it yet, it is located in room 22 of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. That particular room has funerary objects from the valley of the kings, including a good dozen or so different stelae of which the Stélé of Revealing really stands out in terms of beauty, size and condition of the colours. LAShTAL.COM is home of The Aleister Crowley Society. It is a site devoted to the legacy of Aleister Crowley and to the impact of Crowley and Thelema on media, news and culture that was launched Paul Feazey and quickly became probably THE leading thelemic website, certainly in terms of the most active thelemic forum based community. It hosts the Encyclopedia Thelemica, a Thelemapedia fork, the Bibliographia Thelemica, a collaborative bibliography with information on many, if not most the books out there. There is an amazing gallery of pictures personalities and places of the past and present, host the thelemic time-server, some downloads, articles, links and did I mention the forum ? ;-)

Any forum brings with it some undesirable post of not so high quality, but generally the variety and quality of the content, and the news section make this in probably not only my humble opinion the leading website out there. It the highly unlikely event that you have not visited it yet, please do. You won't regret it.

Typhonian OTO

"Typhonian" Ordo Templi Orientis - this is not an official TOTO site, but a subsite of P.R. Koenig's OTO Phenomenon site (see my comment on the OTO subsite). Nevertheless it contains various texts by TOTO (Michael Staley, Simon Hinton & others). TOTO was founded, re-activated or however you prefer to put it by Kenneth Grant, who claimed since 1962 e.v. to be OHO (Outer Head of Order) of OTO, but was expelled by Karl Germer, Crowley's successor, in 1955 e.v. On this site you will also find a disputed document, said to be written by Crowley, making Kenneth Grant OHO of OTO along with Michael Staley's official response to this document and some of their account of OTO history, e.g. the point that Germer might have claimed to have expelled Grant, but by his own refusal to accept the OHO position, had no authority to do so. This is however surprising as Grant seems to have accepted and referred to Germer's authority before.

Regardless of this and the court decision in the UK Trademark Case it is an undisputed fact that Grant and the others transformed this order into something very different from the Crowley OTO with their higher focus on the Typhonian tradition, extra terrestial intelligence, LAM, Horus/Maat Double Current and darker aspects of the occult existence. Far less focus on group rituals or ceremonial initiations replaced by some small set of grade work and effectively self initiation that together with Grant's books surely is of interest to some.

Tau Allen Greenfield

Among other things he is a Gnostic Catholic bishop through O.T.O.'s E.G.C. and Bertiaux's lineage, but is no longer a member of the OTO or EGC since 2006. His website contains a statement outlining his version, but more importantly some of his other writings. He is now a bishop of Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis.

I may work on a revival of the site again.

93, Thanks for visiting 'The 93 Current' website. Some may remember this site as a hopefully useful source of information on all the different thelemic currents out there. Well, until I stopped updating the site about 5 years ago and took it off-line some months ago. I commented on the various reasons in the past. For the moment let it be known that I am currently thinking about a revival of the site and am working on a concept and the required technical details. If I will actually kick off this project again, I can already tell you that it will be kinda small. Core item of the site will be the URL collection again, like it used to be. I have no intention whatsoever to turn this into a larger project in competion with the great quality websites like LAShTAL.com. Anyway, for now there is nothing more to say and alot of work to be done, so stay tuned. I don't expect a launch until later in 2008 e.v. Cheers, 93 93/93 Carsten

I just felt like sharing this small video I recorded at yesterdays Marc Almond show at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. "The Tango Song" was written by Aleister Crowley with music by Bernard Page; based on the sketch called "The Tango" published in Equinox Vol I, No 9 in March 1913. Colin's page, started in the early/mid 90's, is still one the leading resources on Hermetic Kabbalah with many, many texts from prolific writers such as Bill Heidrick, Don Karr, Jeff Spiegel and others as well as last but certainly not least his own writings. To highlight just a few gems from the content, it hosts an excellent FAQ from the usenet days, an excellent collection of links, his Notes on Kabbalah document and so much more that it's impossible to list everything here. Despite the name it alsao covers basic information on the more traditional jewish Kabbalah.

While this is admittedly written by an OTO member and cannot explain all events in full detail, this text provides a really nice summary and covers most arguments that you would come across.

Cor Lucis was founded by Anna-Kria King, who also co-founded the College of Thelema. It is an initiatory and teaching order based in Los Angeles, with a strong emphasis on “Know Thyself.” A graded, step by step process inspired by the Golden Dawn framework and Thelema of course that combines group and private ritual, study, and meditation comprises the program of this modern, ceremonial Thelemic group. Usually, according to its own statement by invitation only and restricted to members within travel distance to LA.

At the time of this entry there have been three editions so far, but already an impressive list of authors and the website also hosts a small forum and a news sections as well as the Thelema Talk, basically virtual interviews with some Thelemites that got some attention on YouTube.

Interesting article at the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon website about Aleister Crowley's contacts with Freemasonry. New to me was that this seems to admit Crowley was initiated into Craft Freemasonry in Anglo-Saxon Lodge No. 343, recognized, as of 1964, under the jurisdiction of the Grande Loge Nationale Française in Paris as No. 103, which was not recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England as a regular masonic body at the time.

The article also contains some information on Crowley 33° in AASR as well as probably better known contact to John Yarker, who bestowed on Crowley, by post, the degrees of 33°, 90° and 95°; respectively, the Ancient and Accepted, Memphis and Mizraim. the articles closes with the known comment that the UK Grand Lodge does NOT accept Crowley as ever been a member of the Craft.

The site also hosts another short biography put together by Martin P. Starr, the latter connection probably explains the sympathetic attitude towards Crowley.

Ordo Templi Orientis Antiqua is a gnostic-magical order founded in 1921 in Haiti by Lucien-Francois Jean-Maine in the tradition of gnostic voudon, a synthesis of western hermetic tradition with Haitian magic. The Monastery of the Seven Rays works within the OTOA and both are linked to the Ecclesia Gnostica Spiritualis. La Couleuvre Noire (founded in 1922) is an independent, but linked order dedicated to the practice of advanced techniques of gnostic voudon.

The head or so-called Hierophant of the O.T.O.A. & L.C.N. is Tau Ogdoade-Orfeo IV - Michael Bertiaux, patriarch of the Ecclesia Gnostica Spiritualis. Today O.T.O.A. and L.C.N. work under the care of Sovereign Grand Master Absolute (SGMA) Courtney Willis and Sovereign Grand Master (SGM) David Beth.
